Now that Jesus
has made you a new person on the inside, it's
time for your to start living like it on the
outside! Jesus said, "For the tree is
known by his fruit - Make a tree good, and its
fruit will be good - Make a tree bad, and its
fruit will be bad, and its fruit will be
bad" (Matthew 12:33). So in order to
produce 'good fruit' in your life, I have listed
five important steps that will help you grow
tremendously in your walk with Christ:
1) Repent of your sins and be
baptizes.
(Repenting
means that you sincerely desire and are willing
to turn away from any activity in your life that
is unpleasing to God - Baptism services are
available at the church you'll be
attending). (Acts 2:38; Luke 13:5; Matthew
28:19; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:3-4)
2) Pray daily.
(Prayer
is simply communicating and talking to God - be
sure to also praise God and thank Him constantly
for everything He's doing in your life). (I
Thessalonians 5:17-18; John 15:7)
3) Read you Bible daily.
(Pray
that God's Holy Spirit will grant you wisdom and
reveal real spiritual truth to you as you
read). (Acts 17:11)
4) Go to a place of assembly
(church).
Start
attending church immediately on a regular weekly
basis, (and even more often if you can), and
build new friendships, (fellowship), with other
Christians in the church. (Hebrews 10:25)
5) Witness for Jesus.
Share
the good news about Jesus with others through
your words and in the way you live your
life! (Mark 16:15; John 13:35 and 15:8;
Matthew 4:19)
By following these five
important steps, your relationship with Christ
will grow greatly and the strength that feeds
your spirit will become steadfast and unshaken.
Most Bible teachers recommend
that most new Christians should use the "New
International Version"
Bible (N.I.V.) or the "New Living
Translation" Bible (N.L.T.). Both of
these translations were written in modern English
and are exceptionally easy to read and understand
- especially the N.L.T. version. (Please
note that there are many great Bible translations
available, so I do encourage you to first consult
with the Pastor, (church leader or church Elder),
of the church you will be attending and seek
their advice and direction in determining which
Bible translation would be best for you).
